- 80% of your round is spent walking, 15% waiting, and 5% playing. Which one will help speed of play if you do it more briskly?
- When your fellow competitors are playing their shot, are you ready to play as soon as they have played?
- Do you always take a provisional ball when your first might be lost?
- How many practice swings do you really need?
- Do you walk ahead as soon as you are able to do so, or wait to continue your conversation?
- As you approach the green, are you aware of where the next tee is, and do you put your bag that side of the green?
- Do you line up your putt while others are putting, where possible?
- Do you tee off promptly when it is your honour, even if you still have to mark your card?
- Do you check your speed of play (1 1/4 hours max on the 7th tee, 2 1/2 on the 13th in fourballs)?
- Do you call through promptly when you are searching? (If you find your ball immediately you can ask if you may play on - if you have been playing quickly this may be allowed.)
